A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney for its Kansas City, Missouri office. This litigation defense role focuses on insurance coverage and bad faith matters, offering the opportunity to manage complex cases with a collaborative team.

Duties

• Manage files throughout the entire litigation process, both independently and as part of a team.



• Conduct fact investigations, handle document productions, and execute other discovery tasks.



• Prepare witnesses for depositions and take or defend depositions as needed.



• Prepare pleadings, briefs, and motions, including court hearing preparation and attendance.



• Review and analyze insurance policies, contracts, and other legal documents.



• Support trial preparation and attendance, including direct and cross-examination of witnesses.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation defense.



• Ability to work independently on complex insurance coverage and bad faith litigation cases.



• Excellent written and oral communication skills.



• Skilled in insurance policy review, legal analysis, and legal writing, including coverage opinions.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Missouri and Kansas.

• Strong legal writing and analytical abilities.
