A law firm seeks a Workers' Compensation Attorney in Kansas City, MO, to join a dynamic litigation team. The ideal candidate will handle complex state and federal court matters, manage a high-volume caseload, and collaborate with experienced legal professionals in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Handle depositions, mediations, conferences with claimants and judges, and court appearances.


• Draft pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.


• Conduct legal research and analyze medical records to stay current with developments in the law.


• Interact directly with clients to build relationships and manage case expectations.


• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to resolve multifaceted cases.


 

Requirements

• 3 to 5+ years of experience working in a law firm setting.


• Strong working knowledge of workers' compensation laws and procedures.


• Ability to manage and track a volume caseload with multiple priorities and deadlines.


• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work efficiently with corporate professionals and thrive in a fast-paced setting.


 

Education

• Law degree from an ABA accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Actively licensed in Kansas and Missouri.


 

Skills

• Superior ability to multitask and maintain a durable work ethic.


• Excellent written and oral communication skills.


• Experience with cross-border or multi-jurisdictional matters is a plus.
