A law firm seeks a New York-Barred Litigation Attorney for a remote position based in Tarrytown, NY. This role offers the opportunity to broaden professional experience within a collaborative team environment, providing hands-on litigation exposure from day one. The firm combines the training capabilities of a large practice with the personal interaction of a mid-size firm, representing clients in diverse civil matters.

Duties

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, from initiation through expert discovery, in matters involving professional liability, labor and employment, and casualty.



• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences, while negotiating with opposing counsel to settle claims.



• Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations, drafting discovery requests, responses, motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda.



• Review discovery responses and depositions, preparing summaries, litigation update reports, and providing ongoing legal analysis and advice to clients.

Requirements

• Must be admitted to the New York Bar with a strong familiarity with New York law and procedure.



• Previous experience in civil litigation is required, with a preference for candidates who have handled professional liability or labor and employment matters.



• Experience drafting discovery, leading depositions, and arguing motions is preferred.



• Excellent writing and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of New York.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).



• Proficiency in LexisNexis legal research software.



• Strong analytical, negotiation, and client communication skills.
