Senior Associate Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

Duties

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, from initiation through expert discovery in professional liability and labor and employment matters.



• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences to advocate for client interests.



• Conduct complex legal research, draft discovery requests and responses, motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda.



• Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims and communicate closely with clients to provide status reports and legal advice.

Requirements

• At least 7 to 10 years of litigation experience, with strong preference for backgrounds in General Liability or Labor and Employment Law.



• Current and active New York Bar membership in good standing.



• Experience drafting discovery, leading depositions, and arguing motions is required.



• Knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedure is essential.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active New York Bar license.

Skills

• Superior written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.



• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and LexisNexis.



• Familiarity with case/file management systems and ability to track billable hours.



• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a demanding environment.
