A law firm seeks a collaborative and detail-oriented Counsel, Commercial Contracts in Dallas, TX. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal counsel across the procurement contracting pipeline, balancing business opportunity with legal risk. This hybrid position requires candidates to be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Duties

• Draft, negotiate, and review a wide variety of commercial and technical contracts.
• Partner across the firm to streamline procurement and contracting processes.
• Ensure contract intake is complete, accurate, and business-ready.
• Support Procurement with SLAs, training, and practical legal guidance.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on supplier contracts and risk management.
• Escalate complex legal and risk matters to appropriate firm counsel.
• Develop and maintain supplier contracting policies and compliance practices.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and recommend updates.
• Help develop and maintain firm-wide supplier contract templates.
• Support contracting training and knowledge-sharing across the firm.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating supplier and technology contracts.
• Strong command of contract terms, regulatory requirements, IT, and data management.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong project, time, and change management skills.
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with sound judgment.
• Trusted to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.

Education

• Juris doctor with active license in at least one jurisdiction.

Certifications

• Active legal license in at least one jurisdiction.

Skills

• Experience developing contract negotiation playbooks and training.
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating AI-related agreements.
