The role involves representing healthcare providers in complex disputes, regulatory enforcement, and government investigations. Duties

• Represent hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare entities in litigation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings.



• Handle business disputes, including contract issues, fraud and abuse allegations, and reimbursement matters.



• Defend clients in government investigations, False Claims Act cases, and commercial litigation.



• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and appellate briefs.



• Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.



• Participate in mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.



• Provide strategic counsel on risk management and litigation avoidance.



• Maintain and expand a portable book of business while developing long-term client relationships.

Requirements

• 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on healthcare-related matters.



• Strong background in healthcare law, business litigation, fraud and abuse laws, and government investigations.



• Some portable business and a commitment to growing a client base in healthcare litigation.



• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Texas Bar license (or ability to obtain one promptly).

Skills

• Excellent oral advocacy, legal writing, and analytical skills.



• Experience handling all phases of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.



• Strong interpersonal and client management skills.
