Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate in the Tax practice group to support its expanding Energy Tax practice in Chicago, IL. The role involves advising clients on complex transactions and tax incentives within the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.

Duties

• Advise clients on the federal income tax aspects of project development, acquisitions, financings, and joint ventures.
• Provide guidance on federal tax credits and incentives, with a focus on renewable energy projects.
• Support sponsors, developers, investors, and lenders on tax matters related to energy and infrastructure transactions.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, opinions, and other client deliverables.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in federal income tax matters, preferably with a focus on renewable energy, infrastructure, or energy-related transactions.
• Experience advising market participants on the tax aspects of complex transactions.
• Familiarity with federal tax credits and incentives applicable to renewable energy projects.
• Admission, or eligibility for admission, in the jurisdiction of the office in which the candidate is located.

Education

• Law degree from an accredited institution with excellent academic credentials.

Certifications

• Active bar admission or eligibility for admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
