A law firm seeks a Remote Associate Attorney to support litigation efforts for clients in New Jersey. This role offers a collaborative environment with mentorship from experienced partners, combining the resources of a large firm with the personal interaction of a mid-size practice. The position allows for flexible remote or hybrid work arrangements, excluding court-mandated appearances, and provides immediate hands-on experience in diverse litigation matters.

Duties

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, from initiation through expert discovery, focusing on professional liability and labor/employment matters.



• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences as required.



• Conduct complex legal research, draft discovery requests and responses, and prepare motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda.



• Review discovery responses and depositions, preparing summaries and litigation update reports for clients and partners.



• Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims and communicate closely with clients to provide legal analysis and status updates.

Requirements

• Must be admitted to the bar in New Jersey with a strong familiarity with New Jersey law and procedure.



• Previous experience in civil litigation is required, with a preference for candidates experienced in drafting discovery, leading depositions, and arguing motions.



• Excellent writing and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of New Jersey.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).



• Proficiency in LexisNexis legal research software.



• Strong analytical and negotiation capabilities.
