Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Associate in San Antonio, Texas. The successful candidate will manage complex civil litigation matters, represent clients in state and federal courts, and provide legal counsel on diverse litigation issues. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for client advocacy are essential. Experience with probate, fiduciary, and/or real estate litigation is advantageous but not required.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials.
• Conduct legal research on complex legal issues, statutes, and case law.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and discuss strategy.
• Oversee the discovery process, including document production and witness preparation.
• Assist in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Assist in trial preparation and provide trial support as needed.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law and in good standing in Texas.
• 2-7+ years of civil law experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house environment.
• Strong litigation and negotiation skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and client counseling abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Texas.
