Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Attorney in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will manage and lead a caseload of state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against various companies, while providing guidance to associate attorneys.

Duties

• Develop case strategy and manage active caseload.
• Conduct and respond to complex discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft and argue dispositive and class certification motions.
• Lead settlement negotiations.
• Appear in court for hearings and trials.
• Mentor junior attorneys on litigation best practices.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois or pending admission.
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in civil litigation.
• Experience with discovery, oral advocacy, and motion practice.
• Prior experience with class actions and complex litigation preferred.
• Ability to travel occasionally.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
