A law firm seeks a Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, and AI Associate in Phoenix, AZ. The associate will work directly with clients and manage significant workstreams within a dynamic practice.

Duties

• Advise on GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws.
• Develop privacy and cybersecurity compliance programs.
• Design workflows for consumer rights requests.
• Advise on AI governance and emerging AI laws.
• Support data security incident response.
• Advise on ad tech compliance and digital marketing strategies.
• Support privacy aspects of M&A and other transactions.
• Assist with regulatory inquiries and investigations.

Requirements

• Three to six years of experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, or AI matters.
• Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and emerging AI laws.
• Experience with incident response or AI governance preferred.
• Strong writing, negotiating, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and articulate legal strategies.
• Active bar license in the relevant state or eligibility for admission.

Education

• Excellent academic record required.

Certifications

• CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or AIGP certifications preferred.

Skills

• Familiarity with generative AI legal research tools.
• Superior judgment and practical business advice skills.
