A law firm seeks a talented associate with 4-7 years of experience to join their Technology Licensing, Data Privacy, and Security team in Phoenix, AZ. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Duties

• Advise clients on compliance with data privacy and cybersecurity laws and AI governance frameworks.
• Counsel clients on data asset management strategies and privacy program development.
• Draft, review, and negotiate technology and commercial agreements.
• Draft and review data protection agreements and privacy provisions in corporate agreements.
• Advise on IP ownership, protection, and licensing strategies.
• Lead and support incident response efforts, including breach investigation and reporting.
• Advise on AI governance and associated legal risks.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and risk analyses.
• Monitor legislative developments and advise on emerging obligations.
• Assist with regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver integrated solutions.
• Contribute to client-facing thought leadership.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 4-7 years of experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, or technology transactions.
• Experience drafting and negotiating technology-related agreements.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client matters independently and collaboratively.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or AIGP certification preferred.
