Director, Intellectual Property
The candidate will be partnering with internal stakeholders, including scientists, project and leadership teams, as well as outside counsel as needed, to identify inventions, draft and prosecute patent applications, and develop and implement intellectual property strategy for Sonoma’s cell therapy platform and therapeutic pipeline. Will provide patentability and freedom to operate assessments and validity and infringement analyses and, working individually and in cross-functional teams, provide business-oriented solutions. Assisting with IP due diligence and IP agreement negotiations to support the company’s business and licensing activities. Developing IP policies and procedures for Sonoma, and working with scientific team to ensure invention capture. With external counsel, drafting and prosecuting patent applications. Effectively develop manage relationships with outside counsel and collaborators. Supporting cross-functional project/program teams in reviewing publications and IP provisions in agreements. Maintaining expertise in intellectual property and patent practice to best advise program teams and leadership.
