Litigation Paralegal
The candidate provides legal support such as legal and documentary research; drafting legal documents, correspondence and pleadings; maintaining and updating files; monitoring case schedules and filing deadlines; conducting interviews; summarizing depositions, medical records, and other discovery. Their work will be in support of moderate to complex Liability litigation cases (e.g. case work, research, subpoenas, etc.). Should have experience with General Liability insurance defense work in Georgia. Should have Associate’s Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Legal or Legal Support area OR Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Legal or Legal Support area and Experience conducting electronic database research. Experience drafting legal documents, correspondence, and/or pleadings. Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. Insurance industry experience preferred. One or more professional certifications: CORE Registered Paralegal (CRP). PACE Registered Paralegal (PRP). Certified Paralegal (CP). Certified Legal Assistant (CLA). Professional Paralegal (PP). Strong ability to effectively conduct electronic database research, including LexisNexis, WestLaw, and/or NILS. Highly effective written and verbal communication; ability to summarize information clearly and concisely. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Previous experience in litigation legal support and familiarity with litigation management software.
