Part-Time Faculty Human Resources
The candidate reports to Academic Program Director. Teaches assigned courses within the qualified discipline maintaining a student load within University guidelines for Part Time Faculty. Completes projects as directed by the Lead Faculty and Academic Program Directors. Responds to student inquiries in a timely manner according to University policy, utilizing university assigned email account. Maintain announcement and communication schedule in each course. Review student submissions, apply appropriate rubric to assign grades, and provide relevant, substantive, courteous, and value-added feedback in a timely manner through the Blackboard Learning Management System. Feedback should explain point deduction/loss. Resolves academic concerns, including academic integrity, grade inflation, and grade challenges within University established timelines. Responds to student questions regarding assessment items with relevant and courteous comments that address the specific concern. Facilitates and responds to Discussion Board submission according to University policy. Uphold the University Academic Integrity policy. Participate in scheduled remote meetings, University training sessions, and faculty development opportunities. Read Faculty Handbook, Student Handbook, University Catalog, and Employee Handbook and utilize these resources as the basis for decisions and actions. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Academic Program Director and/or Lead Faculty. Must have Terminal degree in Human Resources preferred/ Master’s degree in discipline required with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the field of study. Must have Juris Doctorate degree; teaching Business Law or Employment Law, with minimum of 18 hours business/employment law. Juris Doctor with appropriate experience in lieu of hours, as determined by CSU administration is essential. Experience in university level teaching is preferred. Experience in online teaching is preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations is essential.Should have knowledge of Outlook Contact Management systems; Internet software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Experience with Blackboard preferred.
