Personal Injury Associate Attorney – Garland, TX

A growing personal injury practice is looking to add an experienced Plaintiff Personal Injury Associate Attorney to its Dallas-area team.

This is an opportunity for an attorney who wants to take ownership of their cases and build a long-term career with an established and successful personal injury practice. The firm has been serving clients for decades and has handled tens of thousands of matters, with hundreds of millions of dollars secured through settlements and verdicts.

The attorney will manage a personal injury caseload from pre-suit through litigation, with a strong focus on client advocacy, case strategy and achieving favorable resolutions.

Position Responsibilities

• Manage personal injury cases from intake through settlement and/or litigation


• Handle auto accidents, slip and falls, premises liability and wrongful death matters


• Draft demands and communicate with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel


• Review and analyze medical records and identify and resolve complex case issues


• Conduct depositions and assist with overall case strategy


• Draft and respond to discovery, motions and motion responses


• Conduct legal research and prepare legal correspondence and other legal documents


• Work with medical and other experts, including assisting with report preparation and deposition preparation


• Work closely with clients to understand their injuries and effectively advocate on their behalf


• Represent clients in court as needed

Qualifications

• Must be licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Bar


• 3+ years of plaintiff personal injury pre-suit and litigation experience


• Experience drafting demands and responding to motions


• Strong knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence


• Excellent legal research, writing and analytical skills


• Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic


• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred, but not required


• Attorneys with an existing portable caseload will receive preferential consideration

Compensation & Benefits

$100,000–$120,000 base salary, plus commission on settled litigation cases, with compensation commensurate with experience.

Additional compensation opportunities include a commission on cases personally brought into the firm in any area of law handled by the practice.
