Help Center Staff Attorney
The candidate will be responsible to provide limited legal advice consultations to Help Center visitors to help them understand the law/court processes, draft written pleadings, prepare for hearings and otherwise resolve civil legal issues. Work to continuously improve Help Center assistance to self-represented people. Prepare self-help materials to assist self-represented litigants understand the law, court processes and litigate their cases. Help to recruit, train and supervise student interns and attorney volunteers. Other duties as assigned. Must have Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited United States law school; Active license to practice law in Ohio, or currently licensed in another state and eligible for admission to Ohio without examination. Experience practicing in Municipal Court; a strong commitment to serving underserved and vulnerable people; Spanish language abilities is preferred.
