Help Center Staff Attorney
The candidate will provide limited legal advice consultations to Help Center visitors to help them understand the law/court processes, draft written pleadings, prepare for hearings and otherwise resolve civil legal issues. Work to continuously improve Help Center assistance to self-represented people. Prepare self-help materials to assist self-represented litigants understand the law, court processes and litigate their cases. Help to recruit, train and supervise student interns and attorney volunteers. Perform other duties as assigned. Must have a J.D. from an accredited United States law school; Active license to practice law in Ohio with admission to the Ohio Bar Association is required. Experience practicing in Municipal Court; a strong commitment to serving underserved and vulnerable people; Spanish language abilities are preferred.
