Contracts Manager
The candidate will be responsible for: Lead contract management and transactional assistance in support of commercial, supply chain, procurement/sourcing, business development and regulatory business units. Provide guidance in managing contract analysis, drafting, negotiation and execution for a wide range of commercial and transactional agreements, including research, co-development, master service, consultant, confidentiality, license, clinical trial, supply, manufacturing, labeling, quality, marketing and advertising agreements. Review contract requests, gather any additional required information, draft or choose and populate appropriate templates, drive negotiations, manage redlines/contract draft versions, ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements to minimize risk. Partner with internal business units to drive product development. Prepare and disseminate pertinent information from each contract to appropriate stakeholders, facilitate contract meetings, act as key point of contact for any questions/needs regarding contracts. Develop and maintain a contract management system and monitor contract renewals and other key contract milestones. Prepare status reports for management. Develop and administer contract templates. Identify and resolve contract compliance issues. Bachelor’s degree or higher is required; degree in biology, biochemistry, or other life sciences discipline is preferred. J.D. degree, paralegal or contract management certification is a plus. Should have 6-10 years of related experience in commercial contracting or similar position, ideally within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device industry. Must have demonstrated experience negotiating, drafting & managing complex agreements with significant annual spend. FDA, drug manufacturing, intellectual property, fraud and abuse, insurance reimbursement, HIPAA experience a significant plus.
