The candidate will be responsible for: Participate fully in senior management policy, business deliberations and clearly communicate how legal issues will affect business operations; recommend strategies to manage legal risk and take advantage of opportunities; Oversee the legal and business aspects of the organization’s transactions; oversee and direct organization’s government affairs and industry involvement; provide input to industry to help shape policy; Provide legal and business input on all aspects of day to day operations of the corporate office, real estate asset portfolio management, domestic trademark portfolio management, liquor licensing, employment law, litigation and risk management, and corporate governance and compliance; Supervise management of US trademark portfolio and legal review of domestic USA multimedia advertising and marketing programs; Supervise the legal aspects of workforce of 3,000 employees; oversee and direct defense against civil and employment related suits and claims; Create, implement and oversee corporate governance programs, legal reports and other statements of a legal nature; Oversee risk management; direct policies and practice on ongoing risk reduction across the company, efficient liability litigation and claims resolution, and workers compensation and property claims handling; Have primary responsibility for selecting, managing, assisting, overseeing and evaluating the efforts and costs of outside counsel; Perform as a key leader and contributor of the Cinépolis USA crisis management team; Provide and ensure timely and accurate monthly reports to CEO regarding status of company-wide general liability, employment, liquor, and real estate litigation matters. Bachelor’s degree; J.D. law degree required. Should have Licensed to practice law in US. Must have 10+ years of general corporate law including real estate and employment law experience. Should have experience within a highly competitive, multi-unit and/or retail environment with leading approaches regarding legal strategies. Must be proficient in MS Office Suite.
