Profile

Our North Dallas area client company is seeking a highly motivated Senior Cloud Software Architect
to join their team and drive their software architecture design, modernization, and transformation to modern microservices-based platforms and distributed systems in the cloud.
The successful candidate will serve as a high-level decision-maker on technical solutions and provide technical expertise and mastery in modern cloud technologies to deliver enterprise level software; will advocate for and lead innovation initiatives and technical migration plans, integrating enterprise strategies for security, scalability, resilience, and availability; will work and collaborate with the Programming Manager and Director of Technology to drive code transformation (peer and code reviews), and will translate business strategy and vision to a technical architecture that meets business objectives.
S/he will further:
Provide architectural blueprints and technical leadership to the team, determine technical standards and processes, evaluate technical tradeoffs against business requirements, and determine design choices, technologies, and platforms.
Design, write, and execute high quality code to standard development best-practices; optimize and transform existing code to better scale leveraging platforms for transformation; perform unit/integration testing; and compose technical documentation, reports, and diagrams.
Suggest and implement solutions for process improvement, assist in prioritizing backlog items and software defects, identify new technologies that would be beneficial, and help train the team on how to use them.
To be considered, candidates must have 10 years of software development experience including 8 years of architecture experience in designing and overseeing the development of large systems, as well as experience with cloud architecture (preferably Google Cloud); have a solid understanding of App Engine, Microservices, Autoscaling, and Kubernetes, etc.; have strong knowledge of Design Patterns, modern software development, and CI/CD practices (Git, Jenkins, GCP, Release Mgmt., etc.); have experience with REST/API services, PostgreSQL (Cloud SQL), and RLS (Row Level Security); have working knowledge of cloud load balancing, framework and environmental security, with Spring Boot, JPA, AOP, Auth0, SSO, SAML, and with Deployment Pipeline Secrets, etc.; have experience with documenting architectures using standards like UML as well as various programming languages, paradigms, platforms, and frameworks; and have strong presentation skills with the ability to train and mentor the team on best practices and new technologies.
