An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.’s Sport and Wellbeing Facilities based at Wide Lane.  Our facilities are open to its students, staff and members of the wider community. We have different sites which include the Jubilee Sports Centre, Mayflower Gym, Wide Lane Sports Ground and the Watersports Centre. A range of sport and leisure classes, courses and facilities are available to our customers from 07:00 to 22:00 every day of the week and we need sports professionals to provide a consistently high-quality sports and leisure service to our customers all year round. 
The role
As a Sport and Operations Assistant, you will be part of a highly motivated and organised Sport and Wellbeing team responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient daily operation of the facilities. Based at Wide Lane Sports Grounds, roles and responsibilities include:
Greet customers at the reception desk and operate the barrier systems for entry to the site
Set up sports equipment for bookings on external pitches (i.e.), putting up tennis nets and setting up a pitch with pads / goals etc. 
Attend to customers at the on-site gym, answer questions and respond to queries, monitor CCTV and undertake cleaning of the area.
Carry out building checks as directed to include checking fire extinguishers, flushing checks and defect checking in all areas.
This post is offered on a full-time, permanent basis. You will be working set hour working patterns. Part time applicants will be considered.
About you
You should have proven experience in handling a diverse range of situations in a customer focussed environment. Relevant experience in the fitness and leisure industry is an advantage, an HSE first aid qualification is required to facilitate the duties within this role, however we will be running a course to allow candidates who are untrained to gain this qualification. You will need to act safely whilst holding responsibility for the health and safety of all leisure users, have excellent attention to detail and a passion for delivering first class customer service dealing with customers and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner.
