Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate to join its litigation teams in North and South Carolina. This role offers hands-on experience across all phases of civil litigation, from case inception to trial, with direct client interaction. Hybrid work options are available following initial training and team integration.

Duties

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and strategic recommendations.



• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks effectively to paralegals.



• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production processes.



• Attend depositions, hearings, and discovery events, providing thorough post-event reports.



• Negotiate settlements, secure settlement authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.



• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure workflow efficiency.

Requirements

• Must be licensed to practice law in North or South Carolina.



• 3-5 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation or other relevant legal experience.



• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision.



• Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.

Education

• Juris Doctorate or better degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar membership in North or South Carolina.

Skills

• Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with diverse clients and colleagues.



• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and willingness to learn database management systems.
