Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Financial Services Partner to join their team in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will bring a portable book of business and demonstrate strong client and case management skills. Admission to practice in a jurisdiction where the firm has an office is required, with a preference for Florida Bar admission. This role offers the opportunity to work with seasoned attorneys in advising and defending financial services organizations and individuals.

Duties

• Manage arbitration, litigation, and regulatory matters from inception through resolution.
• Communicate directly with clients, providing strategic guidance and regular updates.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice groups on financial services matters.
• Consult with clients on compliance issues to assist in meeting legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Admission to practice in the state of residence is required.
• Admission to practice in Florida preferred.
• 10+ years of financial services litigation experience.
• Strong analytical, writing, research, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the state of residence.

Skills

• Experience handling FINRA, AAA, and other arbitration proceedings.
• Experience responding to FINRA, SEC, and state regulatory investigations and enforcement actions.
• Experience defending financial services professionals in state and federal court actions.
• Experience representing insurance agents in professional liability claims.
