Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Patent Litigation Associate to join its expanding Intellectual Property Litigation team in Greenwich, Connecticut. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated matters with a collaborative team, take on increasing responsibility, and build strong client relationships across diverse industries.

Duties

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents while conducting thorough legal research.


• Take and defend depositions, prepare for and respond to discovery requests, and manage case workflows.


• Participate in hearings, trial preparation, and client meetings to support complex commercial and IP disputes.


• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to manage competing deadlines and develop strategic litigation approaches.


 

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in commercial or intellectual property litigation.


• Experience in patent litigation is preferred, with a desire to develop or deepen this practice area.


• Membership in good standing in the jurisdiction where the associate will practice.


• Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills with the ability to work collaboratively.


 

Education

• Law degree from an accredited institution.


• A bachelor's degree in engineering or a scientific field is a plus.


 

Certifications

• Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is preferred but not required.

• Ability to manage competing deadlines and work effectively in a hybrid environment.


• Strong interpersonal skills for building client relationships and collaborating with team members.
