A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to support its New York, NY office. The role involves participating in all stages of cases and making court appearances as part of a team handling toxic tort cases and civil litigation.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of litigated claims, preparing them for trial and developing defense strategies.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations.
• Analyze discovery, medical records, and expert defense strategies.
• Research legal issues and investigate people, businesses, and worksites.
• Draft briefs, memos, and client updates.

Requirements

• Actively licensed and in good standing with the State of New York (required).
• Actively licensed and in good standing with the State of New Jersey (also required).
• 2-4 years' experience in defense litigation; toxic tort experience is a plus.
• Substantial deposition experience.
• 1 year courtroom experience.
• Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment with exceptional organizational skills.
• Client-focused mentality and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Ability to work flexibly and independently within a strong team.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission in New York and New Jersey.
