A law firm seeks a mid-level litigation and compliance attorney in Uniondale, NY, to represent health care facilities and practitioners in regulatory and legal matters. The role requires 3-5+ years of experience in health care and regulatory litigation, focusing on Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA, fraud and abuse, and reimbursement issues. The ideal candidate will navigate complex business and regulatory landscapes while collaborating with colleagues to deliver exceptional client service.

Duties

• Represent clients in courtroom proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and administrative hearings.



• Take and defend depositions, manage discovery, and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.



• Conduct legal research and collaborate with senior attorneys on litigation strategy.



• Handle government (Medicare/Medicaid) and commercial payer audits and investigations.



• Create compliance programs, draft policies, and advise on health regulatory matters.



• Analyze records for business disputes and structure contracts for health care entities.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of experience in health care and regulatory litigation.



• Admission to the New York State Bar or ability to waive in.



• Experience with Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA, fraud and abuse, and medical staff matters.



• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active New York State Bar admission.
