Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney licensed in California to join their team in Encino, CA. The attorney will work under the supervision of Senior Attorneys and Partners in the litigation department, focusing on either personal injury or construction defect cases.

Duties

• Handle high volume civil litigation cases, including personal injury or construction defect.
• Draft complaints, motions, discovery, and meet & confers.
• Take and defend depositions, including expert depositions.
• Attend hearings, pre-trial conferences, and trials.
• Retain expert witnesses and develop trial strategies.
• Conduct research and legal analysis.
• Negotiate and settle cases.
• Provide guidance and counsel to clients.

Requirements

• JD degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Active member in good standing of the California Bar.
• Minimum of 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional and courteous to clients and staff.
• Detail-oriented, team player, positive, energetic, and well-spoken.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Skilled with computers and software; organized.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Demonstrate good ethics, judgment, and maintain confidentiality of files.

Education

• JD degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Active member in good standing of the California Bar.
