Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Elder Abuse and Personal Injury Attorney in Century City, CA. This role offers the opportunity to advocate for vulnerable community members while developing specialized experience in a meaningful and growing area of litigation.

Duties

• Manage Elder Abuse and Personal Injury litigation matters.
• Develop case strategy from initial evaluation through resolution.
• Draft complaints, pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
• Prepare mediation, arbitration, and trial briefs.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Review medical records and other case evidence.
• Work with experts and other professionals as necessary.
• Evaluate damages and settlement opportunities.
• Negotiate settlements.
• Maintain regular communication with clients.
• Meet court, discovery, and internal deadlines.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, case managers, and support staff.
• Provide leadership and guidance to team members when appropriate.

Requirements

• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• 5+ years of relevant litigation experience preferred.
• Elder Abuse litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Plaintiff-side experience preferred, although qualified defense attorneys are encouraged to apply.
• Personal Injury litigation experience is a plus.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Strong deposition and courtroom skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Excellent organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Leadership skills and the ability to effectively guide support staff.
• Genuine passion for advocating for injured individuals and their families.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admitted to the State Bar of California.
