Job Overview

Duties

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, from initiation through expert discovery, in matters involving professional liability or labor and employment.



• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences as required.



• Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations, including drafting discovery requests, responses, motions, and legal memoranda.



• Review discovery responses and depositions, preparing summaries and litigation update reports for clients and partners.



• Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims and communicate closely with clients to provide legal analysis and status updates.

Requirements

• Must be admitted to the New York Bar with a strong familiarity with New York law and procedure.



• Previous experience in civil litigation is required, with a preference for candidates experienced in drafting discovery, leading depositions, and arguing motions.



• Excellent writing and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of New York.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).



• Proficiency in LexisNexis legal research software.
