Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Patent Litigation Associate to join its expanding Intellectual Property team in Parsippany, NJ. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated matters with a collaborative team, take on increasing responsibility, and build strong client relationships across various industries including software, telecommunications, and life sciences.

Duties

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and conduct legal research while managing competing deadlines.


• Take and defend depositions, prepare for and respond to discovery, and participate in hearings and trial preparation.


• Manage cases and develop or deepen a patent litigation practice within a supportive environment.


 

Requirements

• 4-6 years of commercial or intellectual property litigation experience.


• Patent litigation experience is preferred.


• Membership in good standing in the jurisdiction where the associate will practice.


 

Education

• Law degree required.


• A bachelor's degree in engineering or a scientific field is a plus.


 

Certifications

• Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is preferred but not required.


 

Skills

• Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.


• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
