Job Overview

Duties

• Advise and represent manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retailers on consumer product safety and regulatory compliance issues.



• Manage CPSC investigations, enforcement proceedings, product recalls, remediation matters, and regulatory reporting obligations.



• Handle product liability, class action, and complex consumer-related litigation, including researching and drafting pleadings and motions.



• Manage written and document discovery, prepare for and participate in depositions, and assist with hearings and trial.



• Advise clients on government investigations, regulatory compliance, reporting obligations, and remediation strategies.

Requirements

• Hold a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where admitted.



• Timely admission to the Bar of the jurisdiction in which the hiring office is located is required as a condition of employment.



• Demonstrate meaningful experience with consumer product safety, consumer protection, regulatory enforcement, or complex litigation matters.



• Gain relevant experience in private practice, government service, or a combination of both.

Education

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active member in good standing of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where admitted to practice.

Skills

• Experience with the CPSC, the Consumer Product Safety Act, or other federal or state consumer protection laws and regulatory agencies is strongly preferred.



• Persuasive legal writer and oral advocate with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.



• Demonstrate sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
