Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate with 4-6 years of litigation experience to join its expanding Intellectual Property Litigation team in Boston, MA. The role focuses on commercial and IP litigation, with a strong preference for candidates interested in developing or deepening a patent litigation practice. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated matters within a collaborative environment.

Duties

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents while conducting thorough legal research.


• Take and defend depositions, manage discovery processes, and prepare for hearings and trial.


• Manage complex cases, handle competing deadlines, and build strong client relationships.


• Participate in litigation across federal district courts, the Federal Circuit, the ITC, and the PTAB.


 

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in commercial or intellectual property litigation.


• Patent litigation experience is preferred.


• Admission to practice in the relevant jurisdiction is required.


• Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is preferred but not required.


 

Education

• Law degree from an accredited institution.


• A bachelor's degree in engineering or a scientific field is a plus.


 

Certifications

• Membership in good standing in the jurisdiction where the associate will practice.


 

Skills

• Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.


• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues in a hybrid environment.


• Experience managing competing deadlines and taking on increasing responsibility.
