A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Business Immigration practice in New York, NY. The successful candidate will engage in complex immigration matters, providing strategic counsel and compliance support to a diverse client base while contributing to process improvements and mentoring junior staff.

Duties

• Develop case strategies by researching, drafting, reviewing, and counseling clients on procedural and strategic issues.
• Assess eligibility for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status and prepare petitions for submission to government agencies.
• Support clients in immigration program management, compliance, and global mobility initiatives.
• Conduct legal research to support client requests and projects, ensuring accurate and complete data entry.
• Proactively communicate with clients and foreign nationals, resolving escalations and maintaining service level agreements.
• Directly or indirectly supervise junior associates and staff, providing mentoring, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization of processes and services.
• Ensure adherence to documented firm standards and policies to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Member of a US State Bar or the Washington DC Bar Association.
• 2-3 years of experience at the Associate level with an expanded practical understanding of immigration law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft fluent prose and proofread without AI assistance.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Dedication to exceptional client service and the ability to contribute to a positive work environment.

Education

• U.S. JD or LLM required.

Certifications

• Active bar membership in a US State or Washington DC.
