What is the Sr. Software Engineer for ServiceNow responsible for?

The Sr. Software Engineer will be responsible for defining and implementing technology solutions that meet our business objectives and deliver the associated objectives and key results on agreed upon schedules. This role will follow the Agile delivery processes defined by the ServiceNow team.

What does the Sr. Software Engineer for ServiceNow do?
• Collaborate with the product team to help find solutions for their business objectives.
• Uses considerable judgment to determine solution and seeks guidance on complex problems.
• Provide estimates for requested enhancements/stories.
• Develop on the ServiceNow platform via scripting/coding and system configurations.
• Provide coaching, work direction, and oversight to other engineering team resources.
• Participate in scheduled Stand-up meetings to provide updates.
• Generate detailed documentation (requirements, design, support, etc.)
• Provide support for defects or incidents related to release enhancements.
• Requires minimal direction and/or oversight.

What is required for this role?
• Broad technical experience that includes integrations and infrastructure build and support.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Agile development and delivery.
• Self-motivated with proven prioritization and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments at once.
We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and skill set:

Basic Qualifications:
• 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• ServiceNow certified Administrator.
• 4 years of experience supporting the implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development of the ServiceNow tool.
• Experience deploying ServiceNow’s ITOM solutions – including Discovery, Service Mapping.
• Additional ServiceNow development certification/experience. (e.g. Advanced System Administration, Certified Application Developer, Application Creation, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Certified ITIL V3/V4 or willingness to obtain in 6 months.
• Proven experience in the following software development languages: XML, Java Script, HTML, Glide, AJAX and CSS.
• Proven experience with application integrations using technologies such as SOAP or REST Web Services, JDBC/ODBC, and flat files.
• Experience with ServiceNow reports, dashboards, and Performance Analytics.
• Experience with ServiceNow MID servers.
• General knowledge of Information Protection strategies. (encryption, DR, etc.)
• Understanding of data management and concepts such as data normalization, record retention, and archiving.
