A law firm seeks a Defense Litigation Associate in Baton Rouge, LA, to join a sophisticated team handling high-stakes, complex litigation matters for clients across diverse industries. The role offers significant responsibility from the outset within a nationally recognized practice.

Duties

• Manage a diverse and rigorous caseload independently, handling general liability, product liability, construction defect, premises liability, and vehicle liability matters.


• Draft complex opinions, motions, and legal memoranda while conducting thorough file analysis.


• Conduct depositions and interview witnesses to build strong defense strategies.


• Collaborate with a high-performing team to efficiently handle multiple matters while maintaining high-quality work.


 

Requirements

• Must be admitted to the Louisiana Bar and in good standing.


• Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of defense litigation experience.


• Demonstrated ability to manage a rigorous caseload independently with strong organizational skills.


• Excellent writing skills and strong academic background required.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the state of Louisiana.


 

Skills

• Proficiency in drafting complicated legal documents, including opinions and motions.


• Experience in conducting depositions and interviewing witnesses.


• Strong analytical skills for file analysis and case management.
