A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its team in Cherry Hill, NJ. This role offers a collaborative environment where attorneys receive mentorship from experienced partners while handling diverse insurance defense matters. The position provides hands-on litigation experience from day one, allowing professionals to broaden their practice in a dynamic, mid-size firm setting with the resources of a larger organization.

Duties

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, from initiation through expert discovery, focusing on professional liability and labor/employment matters.



• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences to advocate for client interests.



• Conduct complex legal research, draft discovery requests and responses, and prepare motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda.



• Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims and communicate closely with clients to provide legal analysis and status updates.



• Review discovery responses and depositions, preparing summaries and litigation update reports for internal and client review.

Requirements

• Must be admitted to the New Jersey Bar with a strong familiarity with NJ law and procedure.



• Previous experience in civil litigation is required, with a preference for candidates experienced in insurance defense.



• Proven ability to draft discovery documents, lead depositions, and argue motions effectively.



• Excellent writing, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of New Jersey.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).



• Proficiency in LexisNexis legal research software.



• Strong negotiation and client communication abilities.
