Duties

• Provide legal advice to clients and plan service providers regarding compliance with ERISA, PPACA, HIPAA, and other relevant federal and state regulations impacting employee benefit plans.



• Draft and review plan documents, including plan documents, amendments, summary plan descriptions, and plan policies.



• Attend client meetings to discuss plan administration, compliance issues, and strategic recommendations.

Requirements

• 0-5 years of experience in employee benefits law.



• Admission to the Kansas Bar or the ability to gain admission to the Kansas Bar is required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.



• LLM in tax or tax certificate is preferred.

Certifications

• Active Kansas Bar admission or eligibility for admission.

Skills

• Experience working with qualified retirement plans, self-funded health and welfare plans, or related areas is preferred.



• Strong analytical and drafting skills with attention to detail.
