A law firm seeks a Trademark and Advertising Associate in Boston, MA, to join a dynamic practice serving cutting-edge clients from AI startups to public companies. The role involves managing the full arc of brand protection, including trademark clearance, prosecution, oppositions, and enforcement through litigation and digital takedowns. The associate will advise on complex advertising claims, influencer marketing, and emerging technologies such as AI-generated content, often addressing legal issues with no clear precedent.

Duties

• Clear and prosecute trademarks, and manage trademark oppositions and cancellations.



• Enforce brand rights through demand letters, domain disputes, takedowns, and federal litigation.



• Advise clients on marketing claims, advertising compliance, and competitor conduct.



• Counsel on novel legal issues involving AI, virtual worlds, and digital media.



• Develop global brand strategies to build, police, and defend intellectual property across borders.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in trademark, copyright, advertising, and Internet liability law.



• Experience with contested matters, enforcement work, and unsettled areas of law.



• Superior academic credentials and a strong record of professional achievement.



• Ability to think creatively and practically in complex, high-stakes environments.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar admission in Massachusetts or eligibility for admission.
