A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The successful candidate will manage a diverse litigation caseload, working closely with partners from intake through resolution. Duties

• Manage a caseload of construction, employment, real estate, and commercial litigation matters from intake through settlement, trial, and/or appeal.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and written discovery requests and responses.
• Conduct legal research and provide partners with clear, practical analysis on case strategy.
• Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and work with experts.
• Appear in state and federal court for hearings, conferences, arbitration, and trial.
• Represent clients in mediation and settlement negotiations.
• Advise clients on best practices and contract disputes before they turn into lawsuits.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and the court, keeping clients updated on their case.
• Keep accurate time records and meet billable hour expectations consistent with firm standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience as a practicing attorney.
• Experience in construction, employment, or commercial litigation; exposure to more than one is a plus.
• Proven ability to draft persuasive motions and briefs and manage discovery independently.
• Deposition and courtroom experience preferred.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Colorado bar license in good standing.
