A law firm seeks an experienced environmental attorney to join its team in White Plains, NY. The role involves advising on federal and state environmental regulations and participating in complex real estate and energy projects. This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

Duties

• Advise clients on environmental regulations, including CERCLA, CAA, and RCRA.
• Represent clients in permitting, compliance, and regulatory matters.
• Structure and negotiate real estate transactions.
• Lead environmental due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
• Manage permitting processes for energy and infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate environmental risks.
• Review environmental site assessments and technical reports.
• Provide guidance on NYC Local Law 97 and energy transition matters.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in U.S. environmental law.
• Experience with energy, infrastructure, or large-scale development projects.
• Admission to the New York State Bar; other state admissions are a plus.
• Strong understanding of environmental risk allocation and legal frameworks.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills

• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Experience drafting and negotiating environmental contracts.
• Ability to analyze technical environmental data.
