Law Student Volunteer, Summer 2021
The Intern will support the entire mission of the FARA Unit, reporting to the Deputy Section Chief, with coordinated assignments tasked by the Senior Counsel for FARA Administration, as well as the FARA Unit’s Supervisory Program Manager. Will research legal questions and draft memoranda, letters, inspection reports, and advisory opinions. Will also review registration documents, conduct investigations, inspect foreign agent books and records, assess registration obligations, prepare briefing materials, respond to telephone inquiries, assist with presentations and supporting materials, and provide support for special projects. Open to all law students who satisfy the following requirements. Strong research and writing skills are required. Prior interest or experience in national security or criminal litigation is highly preferred. Courses such as Criminal Procedure, Evidence and Trial Practice are also helpful.
