Job Details:
Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred. Applicant must have at least twelve consecutive months of work experience with the same employer and no additional gaps in employment greater than six months during the last 36 months. If applicant was laid-off, providing eldercare or childcare, the six month gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history criteria will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months. Positive pre-employment references must be obtained by Strawberry Hill facility. Applicants must reside in the US.

Starting Wage: $15.45
Plus, additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends.

Location: Strawberry Hill, Monticello, KYSchedule: Rotating 4 days on / 4 days off, including holidays.
Hours: 5:30pm – 5:30am
Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.
Position Summary:
Monitor Hatchery and equipment; prepare hatchery for processors to perform duties; clean and sanitize hatchery areas and equipment as specified. Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be able to achieve and maintain a respirator certification: TM’s must remain clean shaven during all scheduled work hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitors building and surrounding grounds for unauthorized entry, vandalism, safety hazards (25%)
Inspects and monitors equipment (inside/outside) for proper operation (25%)
Perform simple math as part of manually recording temperature and humidity readings (10%)
Dispenses formaldehyde per schedule (10%)
Fumigates specified areas of the facility as required (10%)
Prepares Hatchery for processors by: chick room set up, placing wing bands on tables and mats on floors, set up of chick boxes and scales (10%)
Other duties, responsibilities, and activities:
These may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, such as: help with farm monitoring; clean incinerators; perform janitorial and laundry duties; monitor operation of generator during power failure; maintains foot pans and hand sanitizer; assist with egg sets as needed; properly euthanize weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy (10%)
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare:
The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Only body piercings covered by on-farm clothing are permitted. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift and/or move, up to 40 pounds to move items such as tray of eggs, etc; tools, such as wheeled buggy, may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 500 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; stoop/bend;; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complex. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Must have good communication skills to accurately convey opinions and concerns.
Tools and Equipment: Tray Wash, Pressure Washer, Foamer
Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also work in hot, dry, dusty, wet, icy, snowy and cold environments.
Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety goggles, safety glasses, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required. Ear plugs will be used as required. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.
Chemicals Commonly Used: Disinfectants such as Synergize, Virocid, Simple Green, Lysol, Formaldehyde, Chlorofoam, Acid-a-foam, bleach, etc.
Safety: TM is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. TM is expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.
