Duties: Conducting legal research and developing legal reference resources for public use, about open-government issues. Compiling and publishing Brechner Report newsletter of open-government developments for periodic distribution to Center stakeholders and subscribers. Providing guidance to Brechner Center student researchers in developing research projects about journalists’ rights issues. Carrying out legal research projects under contract with Brechner partner organizations. As assigned, presenting Brechner Center educational and outreach programming to public audiences, both within and outside the University. As assigned, collaborating with the Director on writing projects to include scholarly and popular opinion writing to bring greater attention to Brechner Center issues of concern. As assigned, assisting with teaching media law courses in the College of Journalism and Communications. Where appropriate, providing legal assistance to Center callers with questions about access issues arising under Florida law.
