Patient Sitter - Float Pool

**Swedish is calling for a Patient Sitter (Per Diem, Day Shift) to work in the Float Pool at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.**
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or designee, the Patient Sitter will perform a variety of tasks to assist ensuring that assigned patient(s) is safe and unable to harm themselves and perform non- direct patient care duties as assigned.
**In this position you will:**
Assist professional nursing staff with direct observation of patients by performing basic non-technical tasks under direction and supervision.
Provide secondary assistance with nursing staff for patient bed mobility, positioning and patient transfers.
Adhere to department/system procedures and standards.
Assure a clean and safe environment in patient room or location of care. Continue to observe patients environment to ensure safety and comfort.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff demonstrating a positive and caring attitude; demonstrate sensitivity to patients emotional, social and mental health needs.
**Qualifications:**
**Required qualifications for this position include:**
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required within 30 days of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).
**Preferred qualifications for this position include:**
College classes with a pursuit of health care degree
Multilingual
