Head of Outreach, Attorney Services, and Digital Initiatives Librarian
The candidate will enhance the outreach efforts and communication of library services and resources to the bench and the bar throughout the state, facilitating communication between the law library and practitioners, assessing the legal research needs of practitioners, and identifying opportunities to support practitioners through effective research techniques and law-practice technology innovations. Will teach Introduction to Legal Research and Advanced Legal Research courses. Develop and provide programming, in person and remotely, to internal and external audiences. Develop and implement a digital institutional repository, either independently or in collaboration with the university libraries. Promote the intellectual output of the College of Law through the promotion and dissemination of faculty scholarship, student scholarship, and any other academic work product of the law school, both external and internal to the university community. Support faculty members using SSRN and other commercial subject repositories to promote and disseminate scholarly work digitally. Provide outreach and instruction to faculty members related to intellectual property, open access, alternative publishing models, data management, and other issues related to scholarly communication and digital initiative; including the retention of intellectual property rights and author agreements. Develop a comprehensive scholarly communications program that supports faculty members and student scholars throughout the lifecycle of the publication process. Serve as member of reference team and provide reference service to members of the bar, students, faculty, and staff as needed. J.D. and an M.L.S. degree, or a related degree is required. Must have 2+ years of experience to include: practicing law; the development and implantation of a digital repository.
