Behavior Coach
To provide behavioral support to students while coaching teachers and parents using strategies so that all students are successful and able to access their education.
Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree required.
-Training in Specialized Behavior Management.
-A minimum of two (2) years experience working with appropriate aged students.
-Familiar with laws and regulations governing education in Vermont, specifically Special
Education Laws.
-Good basic computer skills and experience with word processing programs. Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
-Ability to effectively, efficiently and regularly communicate and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals, including students, peers, subordinates, supervisors, parents, and representatives of outside organizations.
-Ability to effectively resolve conflicts and handle stress.
Essential Duties:
-The behavior coach will model, mentor and support students by working directly with classroom teachers.
-Coordinate the Succeed Program
-Manage a 504 Caseload
- Work collaboratively with other Behavior Interventionist(s) implementing the program.
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student
deportment, and develop reasonable rules for classroom behavior and procedures.
- Maintain a safe learning environment and take all necessary and reasonable precautions
to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
-Work collaboratively with the school to identify students in need of early behavioral intervention.
-Collect and summarize behavioral data collaboratively with teachers/staff and make recommendations about adjustments that should be made in the plan/program
- Participate in scheduled in-service days.
-Provide ongoing faculty training to support school-wide positive behavior strategies for students.
- Perform other task and duties as appropriate and/or assigned.
