We have a Windows Server Administrator performance challenge for you. Based out of our Herndon, VA location you will provide support to a large engineering program.
What You Will Do:
Ability to perform remote hardware repairs and upgrades on workstations (acting as servers), routers, firewalls, Ethernet Power Controllers (EPC), and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
Ability to build, administer, security patch, and updating of Windows servers located across the Federal Aviation Administration Air Traffic facilities.
Ability to setup, configure and manage Apache Tomcat middleware on multiple servers.
Solid understanding of networking concepts like TCP/IP.
Monitor the services and operational health of these servers and workstations associated with these systems, performing hardware and software maintenance and repairs as necessary to maintain system stability and continuity.
Assist in design, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure systems, programs, hardware, and software.
Assess and document network configuration and/or requirements.
Develop and document installation procedures and implementation schedules for upgrade of any network equipment, servers, workstations, laptops, and other IT assets within the system.
Coordinate and provide post installation operation and support for any hardware and/or software installations and upgrades.
Solid work ethic, self-driven, can function independently with minimal oversight and direction
Strong knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in system hardware and software.
Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
What You Bring to Karsun: (Requirements- Required/Preferred/Desired)
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Information systems, business systems, management information systems, IT Management, or other IT degree
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Proven work experience as a Windows Administrator; Detailed knowledge of Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance.
Experience with databases, patch management, and networks including LAN and WAN.
Familiarity with modern operating systems and server platforms.
Knowledge of network security systems, intrusion detection systems, and data backup.
Knowledge of using Whatsupgold, batch patch or similar tools
Knowledge of windows powershell scripting would be helpful.
Knowledge of JIRA and Remedy tools would be helpful
Ability to lift and move server equipment.
Engineering, math, and/or science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees for years of experience
Note:
Need resource to be local to DMV area (Karsun HQ)
and be able to commute to Karsun VA office when the team requires.
