Law Reference Librarian
The candidate assesses library patron's specific information needs through use of formal interviewing techniques. Determines availability of library resources by searching library holdings, including consortium holdings, and outside sources when necessary. Develops and presents training programs and other formal instructional programs designed to teach. Legal research and general library research skills and to assist patrons in the effective use of the library's collection. Oversees issues of vendor database accessibility, password assignments, and list maintenance. Manages and schedules vendor student training and special activities. Assists in maintaining a useful and relevant departmental collection, requiring knowledge of the collection's strengths and weaknesses, availability and usefulness of new materials. Interviews, hires, trains, schedules, and supervises Circulation Desk employees. M.L.S. required. Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent; or more than 5+ years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Motor vehicle license desired.
