Accounting Specialist

Profile

Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
Assist in preparing companys financial statements, general ledger, payroll, tax compliance, DCAA reporting, and various special analysis as required/requested
Ensure proper accounting and recording of company transactions are performed in an accurate and timely manner
Work closely with other departments to ensure company transactions are performed within GAAP and DCAA compliance
Assist in project setups and people assignments for cost and time tracking purposes
Assist with travel policy ensuring adherence to Company Guidelines
Oversee accounts payable and credit card processing
Support third party audits and outside accounting firm requests
Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting reviews and reconciliations
Audit financial documents, reconcile bank statements, and calculate tax payments and returns
Ensure all accounting allocations are appropriately made and documented
Prepare and analyze cost reports and costing audits, reviewing to ensure cost data is allocated correctly
Prepare month/quarter/year end entries and assist in the close-out process
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education/Training (both required and desired):
Bachelors Degree in Accounting required
Masters Degree a plus
CPA certification a plus
Experience:
8 years of experience (experience is waiver eligible with additional school beyond required degree)
Experience with Accounting software and multiple software support packages
Experience with treatment of multiple locations, cost centers, multiple companies
Experience working with Federal Government Contracting / Compliance preferred
Has good organizational and time management abilities
Possesses strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
Works independently with strong work ethic and dedication to mission
Security:
Must be a US citizen
Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
